About Me
Tien Nguyen
Welcome to My Practice
My practice is professional and confidential. Respect and openness to diversity and differences are important parts of my therapeutic process. I listen attentively to every individual's story, because everyone is unique and special.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is both psychodynamic and insight-oriented, which means I encourage the development of self-awareness to understand present-day behaviours, thoughts, and feelings that may be rooted in the past. I will journey with you to explore your family history issues, childhood attachment, and unresolved trauma using the attachment lens and psychodynamic approach to help free you from the bondage of these chains so that you may live more fully.
Services Offered
I offer both short and long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy (in-person and online). I deliver sessions in both English and Vietnamese.
My consulting room is conveniently located in West Kensington, within a few minutes' walk from West Kensington Tube Station, and I offer an alternative location in Southwest London.
Qualifications
I completed my BSc in Psychology at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham, and a Master’s degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University of London, as well as a Diploma in Trauma Therapy and a Certificate in Psychosexual Therapy. I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I have been working in a variety of settings, including prisons, hospitals, safe houses, youth centres, homeless centres, NHS talking therapy, mental health counselling centres, mental health coaches, and facilitating many intercultural workshops.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its professional standards and codes of ethics.
